Job history:
I have worked a few years at a security company. Not really my cup of tea, but you have start somewhere, haven't you? I did a lot of different things there such as planning, administration, security work 'out in the field' and training. I had to work night shifts as well and I have to admit: I liked that very much and that rhythm was something I really missed when I changed my job.

This is me, guarding the World Cup of football. With my uniform I scared off all the bad guys, so the Cup was safe. It was the year that lucky Ajax won it, but I don't remember which year that was exactly (but who does..)
My next job was as a planner at a transport company called Koopman Transport. With my colleague planners I was responsible for making the daily routes of the 15 trucks we had in the transport of various goods. It was a big challenge to find out the best and most profitable ways to drive. This means the truck had to make as little 'empty' kilometers as possible. Besides that there was the daily buying and selling of cargo. Work was usually very dynamic and hectic.

And since 1999 this it what I do
As mentioned before I work for the Woningstichting Talma in Hoogezand. This is a housing company that is letting houses to people who are not able to provide in their own place to live. Usually (but not always) these people belong to the weaker classes of our society. This could be the end of a desription what a housing company does, but throughout recent history housing companies have become an important player on the areas of environmental improvement, dealing with social problems and development of local building plans.
Below you see the building where I work.

My work at Talma has many aspects: I'm dealing with everything concerning the letting of our houses such as contracts, contacts with customers, deciding about which candidate gets a house.
I'm also involved in several committees with a diversity in subjects such as local initiatives for improving the quality of living and dealing with serious social problems.
And, as a member of our management team, I'm also involved in the long term strategic policy of our company. Times are tough, economically speaking, and we have ambitious plans but on the other hand we have to survive of course.
I'm doing this work for more than 4 years now and it's still a challenge!
