Harold's website

Welcome!

Welcome on the website of Harold Bosboom. Together with my wife Tea and our son Ardin I live in Winschoten. Winschoten is a small town in the north of Holland.
Tea is originally from Georgia and lives in Holland since 1995. She is a professional chessplayer.
Ardin is our son and he is a bright, happy and playful boy.

I work at a housing company in Hoogezand called Talma. I'm doing this work since 1999. Before that I was a planner at a transport company and an all-round worker at a security company.

On this home page you will find information about the things that are going on in my life. Also pictures will be added. Have fun here!

Last news

11-12/4/03 - Trip to Den Haag (The Hague) with all my colleagues and their partners. A nice combination of learning and relaxation!
16/04/03 - First bridge evening with Bert in many many years. This didn't stop us from making a very respectable score of over 65% to take the first place in our group.
30/04/03 - Second bridge evening. This time Bert and me scored a little less (63%) and reached the second place.
04/05/03 - Birthday party at home. We invited some guests who prevented me from eating all the delicious things my wife Tea made.
10/05/03 - A tragic moment for my chess team Van der Linde: because we lost our last match against Sneek with 6-2 we were kicked out of the dutch third league. Half a point more and we would have stayed there! I wasn't a big help for the team: I suffered an unneccesary defeat.
14/05/03 - Third bridge evening with Bert. Again our score decreased a little, almost 60% this time. Still not bad, of course. With a more solid bidding system we can do much better.
25/05/03 - Bert, Herbert, Peter and myself played 18 holes of pitch&putt in Groningen. It was a nice, good old-fashioned relaxed afternoon which was concluded by a good chinese meal at Peter's house. We should do such a thing more often! O yeah: Herbert was the deserved winner.
16/07/03 - 10/08/03 - Holidays! Finally! The target for our trip was already clear for a long time: USA or, to be more specific, New York and New Rochelle. Pics and stories you will find elsewhere on this site and also on Tea's site. One thing: a casino is a dangerous place!
8/10/03 - 11/10/03 - A fantastic trip with my collegues to the big and impressive city of Istanbul. We learned a lot, had a lot of fun and some of us even made good deals with local salesmen. For more information of this trip, lok elsewhere on my site.
22/10/03 - Disappointing result in the 4th and last round of the first series of bridge. Murphy's Law proved again to be right. Bert and me have to do some work on our bidding system!
15/11/03 - Bert and me went to Groningen to join Peter in supporting Herbert's new volleybal team 'Omniworld' against the always dangerous 'Lycurgus'. After a close first set it became a one-sided affair because Omniworld was too strong. Herbert made some actions in the third set.
22/11/03 - To celebrate my father's birthday (he became 70 at 20/11) our whole family (my parents, my brother, his wife & 2 children and we) went bowling. Healthy modesty forbids me to reveal who became first!
28/11/03 - I visited the chessclub Van der Linde who had a match with HSP from Hoogezand. It was a close match, with a lot of tension. VdL won the last two games of the evening to tie 4-4. Tonnus won the last in a nice game. His preparation with Bert, who also turned up at the end of the evening, paid off!
3/12/03 - The results at bridge are becoming stable. This time it was 62,5% to reach an avarage of about 60%. Our new bidding system is reaching its conclusion
5/12/03 - Sinterklaas-evening at home. Ardin was very excited and very happy with his presents. Some poems were a little less to his liking though (too honest?)
